FMF User Experience Column

One of our customers, a defence contractor, was using memory models from another supplier. They had to pay each year for software that allowed the models to run in their simulator. Recently, a number of the models they used quit working. When queried, the vendor told them the models were all of very old parts and they did not want to maintain those models. They were on their own.

By using source based FMF models, you will never face that issue. Once you have a model, you have it forever - regardless of what we do or what may happen to us. The latest FMF blog article discusses this in greater depth. Please take a look.

Do you have a comment or an experience with board or system level verification you would like to share? If so, please send it to the email address at the bottom of this page.

The following is a list of 58 updates to the Free Model Foundry website for the month of September 2007.

Please note we are continuing to add Verilog models to the library.

There are now models and timing files covering over 11,000 part numbers on the FMF website.
